Scotty Bullock & The Stampeders

Scotty Bullock & The Stampeders come from the South of Germany. The band was founded by Scotty Schober, Peter "Gunn" Gansbühler and Florian "Jokerhead" Seppenhauser at the beginning of 1998. Scotty and Peter had played with a number of other bands during the last 15 years, e.g. the Bruise Boys and the Duetones. Scotty had also written most of the songs for the first EP and CD of the latter. For Florian it was his first job in a Rockabilly band.

After Scotty and Peter had left the Duetones in 1997, they got together with Hank Hays, the lead guitarist of the Swing Rays, and played as "Chicken Hunch Trio" in the USA. There, they also appeared live at a radio show at WFHB radio in Bloomington, Indiana. Afterwards Scotty joined the Swing Rays and toured the USA with them. They were on stage with well-known US artists such as Ronnie Dawson, Sony Burgess, Junior Brown, Lee Rocker, Wayne Hancock, etc.

.After he had returned to Germany, Scotty (lead guitar / lead vocals) founded a new band together with Peter (drums / vocals) and Florian (double-bass / voacls) called Scotty Bullock & The Stampeders. After a number of very successful live shows in Southern Germany they began to plan their first album in autumn 1998.

In spring 1999, Scotty and the Stampeders went to the studio to record the songs for this long player. The songs that resulted from this recording session were released on Cherokee Records on a CD and a 10" LP entitled "Dusty Roads" in June 1999.

Most of the songs on this CD is original material written by the band and Scotty, who is not only a fanatical but also brilliant song writer. Their music is definitely influenced by the wild and often "obscure" 50s rockers, the style of which is also referred to as "Desperate Rock 'n' Roll", and dominated by Scotty's wild guitar. However, their repertoire ranges from Hillbilly-style tunes such as "Wilted Rose" to fast Rockabilly songs like " '49 Mercury".

A short time after their debut CD had been released, unfortunately Scotty Bullock & The Stampeders dissolved, as Scotty wanted to quit playing music completely due to personal reasons. And although the band has never been on stage again after the CD release, the album has turned out to be a great success. "Rockin' & Ramblin' ", which was written by Scotty, reached the first place in the internal Top Five list of the Dutch "Boppin' Around" magazine in 1999, and the album "Dusty Roads" made it to the third place of the album Top Five list.

Currently Scotty is the frontman of the Sunny Bottom Boys. He is also working on a new solo project.
