       Security

Cherokee Records is committed to the highest level of security commercially available, in order to keep sensitive information safe:

  • We use SSL (Secure Socket Layer) and PGP to transmit data between your computer and ours. This means that the information you send us is encrypted using 128-bit military grade encryption and transmitted via a secure server. This is indicated at the final step of the ordering process (where you complete your order and enter your credit card details) by the padlock symbol in the bottom status bar of your browser (“locked” status”).

    Netscape Navigator in secure mode

    Internet Explorer in secure mode

  • With credit card payments we use the card verfication number, in order to ensure optimum security with this payment method. For your safety and security, Cherokee Records requires that you enter not only your credit card number but also your card's verification number. With VISA and Master/EuroCard the verification number is a 3-digit number printed on the back of your card. It appears after and to the right of your card number. With American Express the verification number is a 4-digit number printed on the front of your card. It appears after and to the right of your card number. For further information see the figures below.

With VISA and Master/EuroCard this number is called card verification code/value (CVC/CVV). It is a 3-digit number which is located on the back of the card. It appears after and to the right of the credit card number.

With American Express this number is called 4DBC (which stands for 4-Digit Batch Code). It is printed on the front of the card and appears after and to the right of the credit card number.
